Description of key information

biodegradation of the substance's organic part reached 108 % on day 28: the organic part is readily biodegradable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

In a CO2 evolution test conducted according to OECD guideline 301B, biodegradation (ThCO2) of 108% after 28 days was found for the test item's organic part (Safepharm 2001). Biodegradation satisfied the 10-day window validation criterion. An inoculum domestic activated sludge without pre-adaptation to the compound was used. The organic part was therefore considered to be readily biodegradable under the conditions of the OECD guideline 301B.
