Bioaccumulation potential:
no bioaccumulation potential

Additional information

The data of the acute dermal toxicity, dermal irritation and skin sensitization test indicate little or no dermal adsorption, owing to the fact that no irritation or sensitizing effects were observed. This is in accordance with the physico-chemical properties of Reactive Red F00-0124. Oral resorption of Reactive Red F00-0124 is probably also restricted due to the low log Kow of the components, since most substances with a log Kow < 0.5 are only marginally resorbed. However, after oral gavage Reactive Red F00-0124 is at least partially absorbed; this can be concluded from discoloration of the kidneys and the spleens in high dose animals.

Due to the physicochemical properties of Reactive Red F00-0124 an accumulation of the dye in the fatty tissues of the body is unlikely.

Obviously elimination of the compound is efficient, via feces as found in the subacute toxicity study.

In summary, based on the high water solubility, the low log Kow and the results obtained in various toxicological examinations it can be concluded that Reactive Red F00-0124 does not show any toxicokinetic peculiarity.
