Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No experimental study is available for 1,3-Propanediol, 2,2-dimethyl-, C5-9 carboxylates (CAS 85711-80-4) investigating the abiotic hydrolysis. In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VIII, column 2, the testing of abiotic hydrolysis is not required as the substance is readily biodegradable. However, hydrolysis rates for representative constituents of 1,3-Propanediol, 2,2-dimethyl-, C5-9 carboxylates were calculated using HYDROWIN v2.00 (Szymoszek, 2015). The results show that the abiotic hydrolysis is not a relevant degradation pathway (5.3-19.7 yr at pH 7; 193.5 d – 1.97 yr at pH 8).
