Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

non-explosive

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

-Step1:The substance does not contain chemical group associated with explosive properties which include oxygen and the calculated oxygen balance can be estimated roughly below -200

-Step2:The experimental determination by DSC on substance was found the total exothermic decomposition energy to be about 207J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition of four peaks were found to be 196 - 430°C

Justification for classification or non-classification

The explosive properties of test substance were estimated based on the UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (Manual of Tests and Criteria, Fourth revised edition, 2003, Appendix 6, "Orange Book") where a set of criteria is compiled to identify materials being potential explosives.

-Step1:The substance does not contain chemical group associated with explosive properties which include oxygen and the calculated oxygen balance can be estimated roughly below -200

-Step2:The experimental determination by DSC on substance showed the exothermic decomposition energy is less than 500 J/g and the onset of exothermic decomposition is below 500°C.

The experimental data by DSC indicated that the test substance does not have a potential for rapid energy release. It can be concluded that the test substance is not considered to be classified as explosive material.
