First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

· General information:

Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. Seek immediate medical advice.

· After inhalation:

Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.

· After skin contact:

Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

· After eye contact:

Check and remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do, rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a

doctor.

· After swallowing:

Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Seek medical treatment.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

No further relevant information available.

· Information for doctor:

Treat according to symptoms (decontamination, vital functions), no known specific antidote.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed:

No further relevant information available.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

· Suitable extinguishing agents:

Use water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

· For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: TBC

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

In case of fire, harmful vapours may be released.

Advice for firefighters

· Protective equipment:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin.

· Additional information

Prevent dust formation due to risk of dust explosion.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.

Avoid formation of dust.

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental precautions:

Contain contaminated water/ fire fighting water. Do not discharge into drains / surface water / ground water

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Take up mechannically, fill into labelled, closable containers

Avoid dust formation.

Small spill : Use appropriate tools to put the spilled solid in a convenient waste disposal container. Finish cleaning by spreading water on the contaminated surface and dispose of according to local and regional authority requirements.

Large spill: Use a shovel to put the materiel into a convenient waste disposal container.

Finish cleaning by spreading water on the contaminated surface and allow to evacuate

through the sanitary system.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Prevent formation of dust.

Empty containers pose a fire risk, evaporate the residue under a fume hood

Information about fire - and explosion protection:

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke.

Protect against electrostatic charges.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

· Storage:

· Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles:

Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances.

· Information about storage in one common storage facility:

Store away from oxidising agents.

Store away from excessive heat.

· Further information about storage conditions: Keep container tightly sealed.

Specific end use(s) Used for dyeing, as colorant, industrial use, daylight fluorescent

pigments, lacquers and inks.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Exposure controls

· Personal protective equipment:

· General protective and hygienic measures:

Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.

Always wash hands after use.

Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas. The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals.

· Respiratory protection:

Suitable respiratory protections for higher concentrations or long-term effect: particle filter

with medium efficiency for solid and liquid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P2 or FFP2). A

self-contained breathing apparatus in case of large spill should be used to avoid inhalation of

the product

· Protection of hands:

Protective gloves

The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the

preparation.

· Material of gloves

Chloroprene rubber, CR

Nitrile rubber, NBR

PVC gloves

The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further

marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

· Penetration time of glove material

The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective

gloves and has to be observed.

Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (recommended: protective index 6,

corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374), e.g. nitrile rubber

(0.4mm), chloroprene rubber (0.5 mm), polyvinylchloride (0.7 mm).

· Eye protection:

Tightly sealed goggles

Face shield.

· Body protection:

Protective work clothing

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity No further relevant information available.

Chemical stability Stable under normal temperatures and pressures.

Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided:

Thermal decomposition: 260 degree C, 0.24 kJ/g (DSC(DIN 51007)

Possibility of hazardous reactions Risk of dust explosion.

Conditions to avoid Heat, Flames and sparks.

Incompatible materials: Avoid contact with strong oxidizing agents.

Hazardous decomposition products: In case of fire the following may be liberated: Chlorine decomposition products, carbon

monoxide and carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides (NOx), zinc oxide

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

· Recommendation

The generation of waste should be avoided or minimised wherever possible. Incinerate according to applicable local, state and federal regulations.

· European waste catalogue

07 03: Wastes from the Manufacture, Formulation, Supply and Use (MFSU) of organic dyes and pigments.

· Uncleaned packaging:

· Recommendation:

Non contaminated packagings may be reused. Packs that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of in the same manner as the unused

product.
