Description of key information

In a 72 h static toxicity test with freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata an ErC50 and ErC10 based on the growth rate of 206 mg/L (144 - 302) and 44.5 mg/L (9.73 - 92 .4) were determined, respectively. The NOEC-value for inhibition of growth rate was 4.26 mg/L. The results are based on the time weighted average test item concentration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
206 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
44.5 mg/L

Additional information

In a static toxicity test with freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata, the effects of the test item were determined according to OECD 201 (2011). The test was conducted over a period of 72 h with the nominal concentrations of 10.3, 25.6, 64.0, 160 and 400 mg/L, corresponding to the time weighted average test item concentrations of 4.25, 7.01, 53.6, 140 and 390 mg/L. Under the conditions of this test, the test substance was found to inhibit the growth of the green alga after 72 hours with an ErC50 of 206 mg/L (144 - 302) and an ErC10 of 44.5 mg/L (9.73 - 92.4), respectively (based on time weighted average test item concentration). The NOEC-value for inhibition of growth rate was 4.26 mg/L.
