The test item has a boiling point range of 201 to 203 °C corrected to normal atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa) as determined by differential scanning calorimetry according to Regulation EC no. 440/2008 Method A.2. and OECD Test Guideline 103 (1995).
Weight of evidance studies:
Additionally a literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. Lecat (1943) and the GESTIS database reported a boiling point for the test substance of 203 °C at 1013.25 hPa, respectively. Furthermore, the GSBL database reported a boiling point of 202.3 °C and the JECFA reported a boiling point of 202 °C at atmospheric pressure.
The literatur review supports the results of the key study, and therefore 203 °C at 1013.25 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment as it was from the most reliable literature source.
