Endpoint:
surface tension
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with column 2 adaptation statement of Annex VII Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the determination of the surface tension (as required in section 7.6 of Annex VII) does not need to be conducted if surface activity is not a desired property of the material. According to article 2 of Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 the substance does not consist of one or more hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups of such nature and size that it is capable of reducing the surface tension.

Description of key information

This physical chemical property was not applicable to the test substance as the substance did not consist of one or more hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups of such nature and size that it was capable of reducing the surface tension.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 adaptation statement of Annex VII Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH), the determination of the surface tension (as required in section 7.6 of Annex VII) does not need to be conducted if surface activity is not a desired property of the material. According to article 2 of Regulation (EC) No 648/2004 the substance does not consist of one or more hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups of such nature and size that it is capable of reducing the surface tension.
