Description of key information

The melting point of quinic acid is in the rage from 162.5-164°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
163 °C

Additional information

The melting point given by the publication from Adamson is 164°C. The melting point of 162.5 °C is determined experimentally and available in EPI Suite v.4.11. and ChemIDplus Advanced. Details on the method are not available. For the melting point a mean value of 163°C was assumed.
