Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The chemical safety assessment indicates no need for further studies on terrestrial organisms. Thus in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex X, Column 2, 9.4 further studies on the effects on terrestrial organisms do not have to be conducted. The substance is readily biodegradable and furthermore characterised by a low water solubility and high log Koc. Due to the expected environmental fate of the substance an exposure of terrestrial organisms is considered unlikely. Read-across data on the terrestrial toxicity of the analogue substance isopropyl myristate (CAS 110-27-0) to the earthworm Eisenia fetida determined no toxicity up to a test concentration of 20,000 mg/kg (LC50 (14 d) >20,000mg/kg) . Based on the available information toxicity of Fatty acids, C12-18, even numbered, 3-methylbutyl esters (CAS 1314763-50-2) to terrestrial organisms is not expected.
