Description of key information

Hydrolysis is not of relevance at environmental conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Eventhough the molecule contains a theoretically hydrolysable functional group with an alkyl fluoride containing 3 flour atoms, hydrolysis is not expected at environmental conditions. According to Mabey & Mill (1978), alkyl fluorides are likely to be hydrolyzed too slowly for this parthway to be important at environmental conditions. Moreover, it is known that substances with very low water solubility (in this case <0.1 mg/L) will hydrolyse very slow, if at all (DeVito & Farris, 1997). Accordingly, hydolysis is not of relevance for this substance at environmental conditions.
