Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Aquatic toxicity

The following values have been obtained through GLP compliant studies conducted in accordance with recent guidelines. The studies were conclusive and the results are valid.

Short-term toxicity to fish: LC50(96h) = 6.5 mg/L, Tobler 2015

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: EC50(48h) = 6.9 mg/L, Tobler 2015

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria: EC50(72h) = 18 mg.L, Tobler 2015

Toxicity to activated sludge: EC50(3h) > 1000 mg/L, Eisner 2015

The most conservative value LC50(96h) = 6.5 mg/L (fish) is carried forward for the purpose of risk assessment, classification and labelling.

Conclusion on classification

Acute aquatic toxicity

The lowest available effect level, LC50(96h) = 6.5 mg/L for Oncorhynchus mykiss (fish), does not trigger classification as an acute aquatic hazard according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Section 4.1.2.6.

Chronic aquatic toxicity

Adequate chronic toxicity data are not available. However, the lowest available effect level LC50(96h) = 6.5 mg/L for Oncorhynchus mykiss (fish), triggers classification as a Hazardous to the aquatic environment Category Chronic 2, because the substance is not rapidly biodegradable according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, Table 4.1.0(iii).
