Endpoint:
surface tension
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because based on structure, surface activity is not expected or cannot be predicted
the study does not need to be conducted because surface activity is not a desired property of the material
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING

The surface tension of a substance is defined as a property of liquids arising from unbalanced molecular cohesive forces at or near the surface, as a result of which the surface tends to contract and has properties resembling those of a stretched elastic membrane. Tetralead trioxide sulphate is a solid inorganic substance of poor water solubility, which upon dissolution in water will dissociate to a certain degree into divalent lead cations and inorganic anions. Neither for the lead cations, nor for the inorganic acid moiety are any surface active properties reasonably expected, and those properties are also not desired.

In accordance with REACH Annex VII, Section 7.5, Column 2, testing is not required.
