Description of key information

The 18-h EC50 of 550 mg/L for Pseudomonas putida is used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
550 mg/L

Additional information

A GLP compliant growth inhibition study (Safepharm Laboratories Ltd., 1992) is available for potassium tetrafluoroborate. Pseudomonas putida was exposed to eleven test concentrations of potassium tetrafluoroborate (1.8 to 3,500 mg/L) for a period of 18 ± 2 hours under static conditions. Three replicates were considered at each of the test concentrations, for the control ten replicates were used. The growth inhibition was measured as turbidity. The 18-h EC50 value was 550 mg/L (based on nominal concentrations).
