Half-life time of VC in the sediment - benthic organism -predator - omnivore - cycle: t 1/2 = ca. 3 y; VC concentration in the sediment approaches a steady-state value of 0.358 mg/l in about 15 y. VC concentration in the benthic organisms reaches a steady state value of 0.013 mg/l in about 15 y. VC concentrations in other organisms are less.
