An acute test with fish demonstrates low toxicity. The 96h LC50 value is from a study with Poecilia reticulata and was determined to be 420 mg/L, the test was performed under EC guideline and under GLP conditions (Balk and Meuwsen, 1989). No long term fish endpoints are available.

Invertebrates are not the most sensitive species. The lowest 48h EC50 for Daphnia magna wasdetermined to be 24.1 mg/L, according to an EC guideline and tested under GLP (Balk and Meuwsen, 1989).

Algae were determined to be the most sensitive species with the lowest EC10 value of 0.5 mg/L (Van Ginkel et al., 1990), tested under GLP and according to the OECD 201 Guideline.

The toxicity of TEPA to micro-organisms was determined using standard methods and the study was given GLP accreditation. The results show a calculated EC10 of 46 mg/L (Balk, 1988).
