Description of key information

Primary fatty amines exhibit no functional groups associated with explosive properties. According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006Annex VII, 7.11. explosive properties, no study is required in such a case.
Therefore the study does not need to be performed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

Primary fatty amines are derived from natural sources (fatty acids). Their functional group (NH2) is linked to an unbranched, even numbered alkylchain within the range of C8-C22. Depending on the source their C-chain distribution is variable. The functional group of primary fatty amines is not associated with explosive properties. According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex VII, 7.11 explosive properties, no study is required in such a case.

Therefore, the study does not need to be performed
