Description of key information

Inhibition control data from a ready biodegradability test have been used to determine the toxicity potential of polysulfides, di-tert-bu towards aquatic micro-organisms. Results show that polysulfides, di-tert-bu is not inhibitory to micro-organisms at a concentration of 45.1 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
45.1 mg/L

Additional information

Thiebaud (1997) is a GLP-compliant, ready biodegradability test following OECD guideline 301B. An inhibition control flask, containing test substance, reference substance and inoculum, was used to show that polysulfides, di-tert-butyl does not inhibit micro-organisms. The study is available as an unpublished report and is considered reliable and suitable for use for this endpoint.
