Description of key information

In accordance with point 9.6.1, column 2 of Annex X, the need for conductingtoxicity tests in birds should be evaluated taking into account the available large mammalian toxicity dataset. Further testing in not considered necessary as the large and comprehensive mammalian toxicity database is sufficient to address secondary poisoning in birds and does not indicate a need for further information.

Furthermore, in accordance with point 3 of Annex XI of the Regulation EC 1907/2006, long-term reproductive toxicity to birds does not need to be conducted at the results of the chemical safety assessment indicate that secondary poisoning due to chronic exposure of birds to the test material through the food chain (fish and earthworms) is not expected to occur as the bioaccumulative potential of the test material is low based on the BCF in fish calculated by EUSES 2.1.
