Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to daphnids, no effects occur within the range of water solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

To determine the toxicity of the test substance to freshwater invertebrates, a static study (limit test) with Daphnia magna according to OECD 202 and under GLP using Tween 80 as an emulsifier was performed (RCC Notox B.V. 1989). Except for one animal out of 20 exposed to nominal 1000 mg/l no immobility was recorded. Therefore, the test substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to daphnids.

These findings are supported by another non-GLP study according to OECD 202 (Ciba-Geigy Ltd. 1986). Due to the low water solubility of the test substance an emulsifier (Alkylphenol-polyglycolether) has been used also. The EC50 after 24 h was calculated to be above 100 mg/L. Therefore, no acute toxic effects occurred within the range of water solubility.
