Biodegradation in water, screening test: In a OECD 301C guideline study with non-adapted activated sludge, 86% biodegradation was achieved after 14 days; allyl alcohol can therefore be considered as readily biodegradable.

According to the REACH regulation, the biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation test and biodegradation in soil test are not considered necessary as allyl alcohol has been determined to be readily biodegradable.
