First-aid measures

Contact with eyes:  In case of contact, or suspected contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention immediately after flushing.

Contact with skin:  Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly.  Seek immediate medical advice.

Inhalation:  Supply fresh air.  If required, provide artificial respiration.  If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.  Keep patient warm.  Seek immediate medical advice.

Ingestion:  Do not induce vomiting.  Slowly dilute with 1-2 glasses of water or milk and seek medical attention.  Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:  Product is not flammable.  Use fire-fighting measures that suit the surrounding fire.

Specific hazards arising from the chemical:  In case of fire, metal oxide fume, hydrogen chloride, or other toxic gasses can be released.

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:  Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and fully protective impervious suit.  

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:  Wear protective equipment.  Keep unprotected persons away.  Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions:  Prevent from entering sewers, waterways or low areas.  Do not allow material to be released to the environment without proper governmental permits.

Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:  Clean/scoop up spills immediately, and then place into a suitable container for disposal.  

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:  Keep container tightly sealed.  Store in cool, dry place in tightly closed containers.  Ensure good ventilation at the workplace.  Prevent formation of dust.  Care should be taken to prevent contact with the skin or eyes and contamination of personal clothing.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:  Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from sources of heat, combustible materials and incompatible substances or oxidising agents.  Keep container tightly closed when not in use.
