Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

This substance is a gas and guideline testing for sensitisation is not feasible.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Study is technically not feasible.

Respiratory sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no study available
Additional information:

At present, recognised and validated animal models for the testing of respiratory hypersensitivity are not available. Molecular structure of DME provides no indication for concern. Repeated dose studies in animals, as well as experience in humans, have not given any indication of possible respiratory sensitisation by DME.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Repeated dose studies in animals, as well as experience in humans, have not given any indication of possible respiratory sensitisation by DME.

Justification for classification or non-classification

There was no evidence of respiratory sensitisation during inhalation exposures. The substance does not need to be classified for sensitisation according the EU Directive 67/548/EEC and EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
