Bioaccumulation studies have been carried out in killifish, goldfish and rainbow trout and generally values of between 60 and 271 have been obtained. On the basis of the experimental results a moderate potential for the bioaccumulation of TPP can be assumed. Samples of blubber taken from dolphins contained low amounts of TPP, thus although TPP is not persistent in the environment an accumulation via the food chain may occur. However, it must be emphasised that the exact conditions (time, amounts etc.) of the exposure of the dolphins to TPP are not known.
