Description of key information

The BCF of Cashmeran in Cyprinus carpio was investigated according to OECD TG 305 in a flow-through test under GLP. Fish (lipid content at start 3.1%, at termination 4.45%) were exposed to nominal concentrations of 1 and 10 μg/l and observed for 60 days. The steady state BCF's (based on whole body wet weight) for 3 peaks in the chromatogram were found to be 82, 92 and 140, respectively. The chromatograms show an indication of metabolites in fish but no specific details are described. The BCF of 140 (for the main component) can be converted to a standard fish lipid content of 5%. Thus a BCF of 140/4.45*5 = 157 is used for further evaluations.
