Determination of the Partition Coefficient

(n-Octanol/Water) by Shake Flask Method

The partition coefficient was calculated based on the results of the analytical determination.

The test item was almost completely found in the n-octanol phases. In the water phases all obtained values were below the limit of detection of the analytical method (0.5188 mg/L).Therefore an estimation using the limit of detection for the concentrations of the test item in thewaterphases was done for the experiments. The log Powwas calculated for each run.

The difference between the three different test variants was less than the given ± 0.3log units for each experiment. Therefore, the study is considered to be valid.

According to this study the logarithmic partition coefficient (n‑octanol/water) of the test material was determined to be log Pow0.65 using the shake flask method at 20 ± 1 °C.
