Description of key information

The test item will remain mainly in the water phase, no adsorption to the solid soil phase or volatilization into the atmosphere is expected.

Additional information

Based on the low log Kow of 0.35 (experimental, Hantsch et al. 1995) the log Koc was calculated by QSAR and according thethe formular given in ECHAs TGD part 3. The log Koc was < 3 (1.202, BASF, 2008) therefore no adsorption to the solid soil phase is expected. The experimental value for the Henry’s law constant (HLC) of 0.034 Pa·m3 mol-1 at 25 °C (Betterton, 1988) indicates that volatilization from an aquatic environment into the atmosphere is unlikely under environmental conditions.


Both parameters indicate a distribution of the test item towards the water phase. This was confirmed by distribution modelling according to Mackay Level I calculations. Based to these calculations the test item will remain mainly in the water phase when released to the environment (98.8 %).
