No experimental data evaluating the potential for photodegradation of isooctadecanoic acid, mono- and diester with glycerol (CAS No. 97358-80-0) in air are available. Since the substance is an UVCB substance, QSAR calculations using the AOPWIN v1.92 program have been performed on representative fatty acid components (C18 iso mono- and diester), resulting in estimated half-lives (DT50 values) of 7.2 and 10.2 hours (reaction with OH-radicals, 24h-day)(López Parrón, 2011). These values indicate that the substance is susceptible to undergo rapid indirect photodegradation in air. Nevertheless, this is not expected to be a relevant environmental fate process, since isooctadecanoic acid, mono- and diester with glycerol is not likely to be present in the atmosphere in relevant amounts based on its estimated vapour pressure (< 0.0001 Pa at 20 °C).
