For phthalic acid an embryotoxicity test on White leghorn was carried out to determine toxicity to above-ground organisms. The corresponding ED50 is 0.056313 mg/egg. Slope of the dose- response curve was 1.6 (tan alpha). The maximum percentage of malformed embryos was 20. The result (11d-ED 50) is given in 0.38 µmol per egg (Korhonen, 1983; Van Leeuwen, 1990).
