Description of key information

One calculation by a standard QSAR method for the test item and two experimentally determined water solubilities for related substances (rosin and rosin, hydrogenated) indicate that the water solubility of Resin 835 A is below 1 mg/l.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The test item is a UVCB substance.

The calculated water solubilities of the main components of Resin 835 A (QSAR method) were between 0.0737 and 2.41 mg/L. Therefore the calculated water solubility of Resin 835A in its entirety is estimated to be <0.1 mg/L. The experimentally determined water solubility of Rosin (CAS 8050-09-7) was 0.9 mg/L for Rosin in its entirety as a complex mixture and it was 1.18 mg/L for Rosin, hydrogenated (CAS 65997-06-0). Therefore the components of Resin 835 A are insoluble to slightly soluble, whereas Resin 835 A in its entirety is insoluble in water.
