Results and discussion

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The authors concluded: When ethylene oxide-sensitized patients with chronic kidney disease stage V are considered for transplantation, the surgery represents a substantial risk to induce a severe allergic anaphylactic reaction. Therefore, quality care in full knowledge of the risk should be offered to these patients. At the same time, it may be possible that EO allergy could be regarded as a relative contra-indication for kidney transplantation in some centers. To our surprise, no reports regarding kidney transplantation in EO-sensitized patients have been published before now.
