The High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) system was fitted with a pulse-free pump and a cyanopropyl resin on silica base column. The mobile phase was methanol/water (55%/45%). The dead time was estimated based on the retention time of an unretained standard. Six reference standards with published Koc values were run on the system to establish the calibration curve data. The curve was calculated as the linear regression line by plotting the logarithm of the capacity factor of the reference conpounds as a function of the respective compound Koc value. Duplicate injections of HDDGE were made. The adsorption coefficient (Koc) of HDDGE was calculated by interpolation of the capacity factor (k) on the calibration cruve.
