Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Data waiving (other justification):

The studies (simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water and sediment simulation testing) do not need to be conducted because the substance is inorganic.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

These assays of biotic degradation are needed if the screening test performed in the lower annex reveals further need of investigation. As cerium dioxide is an inorganic substance, the biodegradation screening is not applicable. By deduction, the biodegradation tests in the higher annexes are not applicable too.
