Description of key information

The boiling temperature of LL-lactide and DD-lactide were determined using DSC. The outcome was similar for the two lactides and is fully valid for dilactide as dilactide is a mixture of D- and L-lactide isomers. The melting temperature of the test substance is 266-268 °C or 539-541 K. The experiments were performed under a flow of nitrogen and at atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
266 °C
