Description of key information

The substance is considered as readily biodegradable, therefore further studies on the biodegradation in soil are not provided.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

[Specific explanation in addition to field 'Justification for data waiving']
According to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex IX, Section column 2, a simulation study on ultimate degradation in soil does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable. Diethylene glycol is readily biodegradable (see IUCLID Ch. 5.2.1). Therefore, further testing on biodegradation in soil is not provided.
