Based on an adsorption-desorption study, ethylenediamine is likely to sorb strongly to soil. The adsorption potential is more related to the cation-exchange capacity of the soil than to the organic matter content.

A Henry's law constant of 0,6 Pa*m3/mole was determined from water solubility and vapour pressure at 25 °C, from which a partitioning coefficient air/water of 3.2*10-3 at temperature 25°C was derived. This value suggests that volatilisation from water is low.
