PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

P/vP: Bisphenol A does neither fulfill the screening criterion based on readily biodegradation nor the definite criterion based on T1/2. Furthermore, the substance has a short atmospheric half-life. Thus, Bisphenol A is not P or vP.

B/vB: Bisphenol A does neither fulfill the screening criterion (log Kow) nor the definite criterion (BCF) and, thus, is not B or vB.

T: Bisphenol A does not fulfill the T criterion based on environmental data. However, the substance is classified with respect to human health as toxic to reproduction (category 2) and, thus, fulfills the T criterion.

Conclusion: Bisphenol A is not a PBT/vPvB substance.
