Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties were determined from experimental testing. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure, or other properties such as hydrolysis or degradation.

The substance ETFBO is a dense liquid at ambient temperature, with low volatility.

It hydrolyses in water, and is not stable in octanol. Therefore, no bioaccumulation potential is anticipated for the parent compound. Determination of the surface tension of the parent substance is not feasible as it is hydrolytically unstable. The available study therefore relates to the hydrolysis product and shows that no surface activity is anticipated from the release of the registered substance into water and its subsequent hydrolysis.

It is classified as a flammable liquid (cat. 3, H226); no other physical hazards were identified, based on CLP criteria.
