Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Not considered as explosive but EUH044 is applicable "Risk of explosion if heated under confinement"

2-EHN is stable at ambient temperatures, however it will decompose when heated above 100°C. This temperature is significantly lower than auto-ignition temperature of normal hydrocarbons and represents a key factor in designing equipment dedicated to storage, handling and transportation of 2-EHN.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive
