Additional information

Experimental results were identified for the three trophic levels (algae, Daphnia and fish and for other organisms) with variable reliability. These were all listed in the EU RAR (2004) for cyclohexane and were not re-evaluated in this dossier. However, key studies and supporting studies (if appropriate) are included in this report. The following sections detail the robust summaries prepared for these studies in the appropriate sections. The selected key study is also highlighted in the discussion. The aquatic invertebrate study by Adema and Bakker (1986) reports the most conservative acute result and reports a 48-hour EC50 for Daphnia magna of 0.9 mg/L. This result would indicate that cyclohexane would not meet the criteria for toxic in the PBT assessment.
