If released to soil, owing to its low log Koc value of 1.05, TFE is expected to have a high mobility in soil.

Volatilisation from wet and dry soil surfaces is expected to be an important fate process, based on the estimated Henry's law constant (92 109 Pa.m3/mol at 25°C) and this compound's high vapour pressure (30 200 hPa at 20°C).

Meaningful testing in soil dwelling organisms is not possible. However as TFE is a gas, which has low affinity for soil and that will readily partition to air, exposure of the soil compartment is not likely .
