Description of key information

With high probability acute not harmful to fish

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Studies on the short term toxicity clearly indicate; cyclohexanone is acute not harmful to fish. The most reliable study was performed unter flow through conditions using a method comparable to OECD 203. In this study an LC50 (96h) of 527 mg/l for Pimephales promelas was determined (based on measured concentrations; Brooke et al. 1984). This result is underlined by other studies as presented in this chapter, conducted either unter static test conditions or based on estimation methods. For example, Juhnke and Luedemann (1978) determined LC50(48h) values of 536 and 752 mg/l for Leuciscus idus.
