Additional information

Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of cyclohexanone. For aquatic invertebrates and algae the available tests performed without analytical controls. Additionally a read across approach to the structural analogue substance cyclopentanone has been applied to verify the validity of this “non-analytical” data. Including all available information it can be assessed that cyclohexanone is with high probability acute not harmful to aquatic organisms.

No data on long-term toxicity on fish and Daphnia are available. The hazard assessment of cyclohexanone reveals neither a need to classify the substance as dangerous for the environment, nor is it a PBT or vPvB substance. Therefore, and for reasons of animal welfare, a long-term toxicity study in fish and Daphnia is not provided.
