Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Cyclohexanone was tested for ready biodegradation in an OECD 301F test (Manometric respirometry test), where cyclohexanone was degraded >90% within 28 days (BASF AG 1998). Municipal activated sludge from a laboratory wastewater treatment plant was used as inoculum. The OECD criteria for ready biodegradability (> 60 % BOD of ThOD, 10 -day window) were fulfilled. Therefore, cyclohexanone is readily biodegradable. This result is supported by another test on the ready biodegradability of cyclohexanone (OECD 301C, MITI 1) with degradation rates of 87% within 14 days.
