Description of key information

No autoignition was observed up to 601 degrees Celsius (Fisk and Langner, 1995). The test was performed according to EU method A.15.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

If 4,4'-MDI is heated above room temperature, it becomes a liquid. Hence, a self-ignition temperature can be determined. No self-ignition was observed in the Fisk and Langner study (1995) up to 601 degrees Celsius following EU method A.15.
