Description of key information

No effects toward the mobility of Daphnia magna have been observed when testing Sulfonic acids, C10 -21 alkane, Ph esters up to concentrations of 100 mg/L (Bayer Industry Services, 2006b). Due to a water solubility of 2.2 mg/L, the test item does not evoke acute adverse effects towards invertebrates up to its water solubility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
100 mg/L

Additional information

Should read >100 mg/L

Due to the material properties and the aqueous solubility of the test item, no qualified analytical method was available and no analytic was performed. But as the substance is stable against hydrolysis and scored as not volatile, a constant test item concentration throughout the test can be assumed justifying the use of nominal concentrations.
