Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

In a semi-static test (BAMM, 1999) the acute toxicity of 2-ethylhexyl acrylate was studied in the rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. The test was performed according to OECD Guideline 203 "Fish acute toxicity test" including the updated version of July 1992 . Fish were exposed for 96 hours with daily replacement of the test water (semi-static). Six test concentrations ranging nominally from 0.681 mg/L to 4.64 mg/L were used . The following effect values related to the analytically detected concentrations (mean values of the detected concentrations after 1, 24, 48 and 96 hours) are reported: LC50 = 1.81 mg/L; NOEC (behaviour) = 0.381 mg/L.

Concerning marine fish, there are no data available.

In addition, a robust data set of acute studies is available from the other members of the acrylic ester category (methyl, ethyl, n-butyl, isobutyl, and tert-butyl acrylate).
