The partition coefficient of Alkenes, C11-C14, hydroformylation products, distn. residues, reaction products with maleic anhydride and sodium bisulfite, sodium salts (batch: Rif. 7018) was estimated on basis of the respective solubilities in water and n-octanol according to OECD guideline 107. The solubility in n-octanol was determined following the OECD guideline 105 from 2013-04-19 to 2013-04-23 at Dr.U.Noack-Laboratorien, 31157 Sarstedt, Germany.
The partition coefficient of the test item was calculated to be log (KOW) = 4.42. The employed method, determination of individual solubility in n-octanol and water and calculation of partition coefficient, was regarded as the best feasible way for an assessment of the n-octanol / water partition coefficient, as a direct determination is not possible as no suitable detection system could be found.
