Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates.

No acute effects occurred on the waterflea Daphnia magna (OECD 202) in the range of water solubility; EC50 (24h) > 86 mg/L (measured)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity to aquatic invertebrates was investigated with the waterflea Daphnia magna according to OECD guideline 202 [CIBA-GEIGY 1985]. Due to the low water solubility of the test item a solubilizer was used to prepare the stock solution. The highest nominal test concentration was 100 mg/L, which corresponds with an analytically verified concentration of 86 mg/L. After the 24 hours test duration 20% of the daphnids were immobilized at the highest test concentration of 86 mg/L, whereas no effects were observed at the next lower concentration of 32 mg/L (measured). Since the measured concentrations clearly exceeded the water solubility of the test substance, it can be stated that there is no toxicity in the range of the water solubility (< 0.1 mg/L) . Therefore, the test substance is considered not to be acutely harmful to aquatic invertebrates.
