Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A study may be omitted if it is technically not possible to conduct a study as a consequence of the properties of the substance. Because iodine is an inorganic substance a biodegradation study cannot be conducted. Thus, no study is performed and consequential no study summary is submitted.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Because iodine is an elemental inorganic substance, aerobic or anaerobic biodegradation are not considered to be relevant.
